Our New Adventure is Underway
The time has finally come! After waiting a whole year, we have finally moved to our hopefully “Forever Home”.
Growing up, I was enamored by the stories of pioneers. I dreamed of being one of them and admired most their courage, determination and knowledge. Now it is my turn. I left my home years ago to explore the world and found a new home.
People have told me that stability is important. My dream of a mountain view, romantic walks and perhaps a chapel or castle in the neighborhood were not necessarily considered realistic. After years of searching and hoping and dreaming, we have finally found a home we love. A home with romantic walks, a chapel next door and spectacular mountain views. I will never grow tired of this!
Although we will be relatively close to work and small cities, we have moved to the countryside. This suburban girl is a learning a semi-country life. Our first years will be filled with turning this house into our home. A lot of renovating (on our own), yard and garden construction and decorating will be our main hobbies for quite some time.
Everything is taking longer than we anticipated and, of course, life is intruding into our plans and changing them. Oh, well. If that didn’t happen, life could become boring.

Saving Forest
Meet our newest family member. Forest is now 7 weeks old and growing into our lives at a rate only baby animals can. That’s right. 7 weeks old. And we have had him 5 days as I write this post. When the veterinarian first saw Forest, she had him stay

Postponing my USA Wedding and Hurting
As I write this post, it is raining here (again). I am looking out our open sliding door window and yet I still have the birds hopping around, the cows casually walking in the fields and hear the tinkling of sheep bells. It is a good day and we live

Becoming a Bavarian Country Wife: Elderflower Syrup
Make Elderflower syrup, a classic European summer drink. With simple syrup it is easy and 1 recipe is plenty of shelf-stable syrup for a hot summer.

Contemplating Penguins: or Taking Americanisms Literally
The past month I repeatedly posted pictures and videos of penguins with the title: “Contemplating penguins”. Only 2 people figured out what was meant. Then, a month after-the-fact, I updated my relationship for the very first time to “engaged” (doesn’t that just sound all “social media-y”?). Suddenly it maked sense.
